Anyone out there with Ex USMC vehicles.
Although I am along way from placing on vehicle I was wondering what markings and numbers appeared on early WWII (or even just prior to WWII) USMC trucks.
Both of my ACK352's have been stripped down to bare metal in past rebuilds depriving me of any record of markings and their colouring.
The trucks were painted a dark Gloss green and the one and only photo I have seen in USMC service shows the USMC emblem on the door but nothing else.
Anyone able to help?
regards

Good luck. The best alternative might be to see if you can find early truck photos in the Naval/Marine archives. Photos had to have been made for PR purposes as all branches were scrambling for money from congress and public opinion was important. It was not unusual for the military to release photos to the newspapers for PR.
