looking for a cckw 353 or 352 with winch

Post by gmcjimmy1944 »

Hi,
I'm looking for a cckw cargo or tipper with winch in decent condition. Prefer Northeast US or may also consider other areas.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

I don't know if you found a CCKW yet.

There is a 353 open cab with winch. 2100 Euros or pounds.

Getting it back to the Northeast might be prohibitive. Good chance it is a combat veteran.

GMC for sale

Post by Degsy »

I was at the Will Galliers yard 2 weeks ago collecting the last CCKW he had left, he now has a waiting list of buyers and said that demand is very strong at present. There are always some available in the UK,mainly privately and price range seems to be between £1,500 and £5000 sterling ($2700 to $9000 approx) but I would suggest you log on to http://www.milweb.net/index2.html which carries adverts from the US as well as Europe and the UK.Good luck in your search.

Will Galliers trucks

Post by Matt »

Hi Degs,

Did you get the 352 rolling chassis? I saw both that and the 353 pictured a few weeks back.I bought some panels from the 352.

The truck in the picture was tidy and for that money even better.

If you bought the 352 are you going to rebuild it?

Hi Bill and the list,
Still looking for the right cckw. I have seen that website listed on milweb website. I've located a 352 with winch in Montana and a 353 tipper in TN but finding a good hauler is proving to be very difficult, so my search goes on..........

Thanks,
Bill S

still kicking myself for selling my nice 353 tipper with machinegun mount and Ben Hur back in 2002 for $8500!!

Bill,

Bill Peaslee is bringing me another G506 Fire Truck from PA on Tuesday.

He should be able to do it. I think he said he can haul up to 13000#.

This truck deserves a good home, it is a runner, and needs little.

1940 cckw,x353

Post by mmoore »

Jimmy, thought I would let you know I'am going to put my 1940 cckw SWB, steel cab, up for sale, hopefully next week, I will be advertizeing it in many sites and Magiznes, but I thought because I like this site so well it would be first..My truck is the oldest registered on this site, built in Dec. of 40, DOD 11-5-41, seral no 7189, usa 422174S, the truck must be restored but she runs and looks good, the cab is good and solid, new exhaust and muffler, new windshield glass and weatherstriping, front bumper taken off and straighten at a machine shop with a press. I found the correct bed in Washington and had it shipped here,, it's now on and looks great. The winch was taken off and mounted behind the cab, they made a boom truck out of it. I have corrected all of this but I still need the sapre tire rack that fits behind the cab, I do have 2 fuel tanks (big mouth and the small) the price it going to be 6,000. I will be posting pictures on all sites and magiznes, this is the first notice...the truck is here in NW Indiana. It does need the bumper extendions for the winch or correct and lenghten the ones on there now, it does need brake work also. but I feel this is a very collectable cckw because of the it being so ealry. if your interested contact me...Mick Moore

I bought my truck from Kevin. He told me everything that was wrong w/ it up front and took lots of detailed photos. For me, shipping was the deciding factor and he did the impossible and found a guy that would ship it for $1800 from WI to CA (this was back in August and diesel prices have skyrocketed since then so I don't that that is possible anymore). Kevin is a great guy and I highly recommend him.
