Instrument light switch
Does anybody know where I can get a instrument panel light switch? It must be the style for the Early CCKW-CCKWX

Are you refering to the one that has 3 positions as oppossed to the later ones with 4 positions:
ALL OFF - BO - HEADLIGHTS ON
If so, I "believe" that it is the same as the Dodge of the same era and that may make your possibilities a little broader.

Lite switch
This is simply an on/off switch ie ; pull on push off correct ?
If so I purchased one from Frank von Rosenstiel a few years ago he may still have others.
Hope this helps
If Frank is sold out let me know I may have a usable T/O

OK lets make this easy:
Is this the switch with the pushbutton interlock so you cannot put the headlights on w/o pushing down on the interlock button like the later CCKWs and Chevys?
If so, it is the 3 position switch like I mentioned earlier and as I stated, I believe it is the same as the early dodge.

Lite Switch
Sorry I can post a photo here.
I have 1 in my 42 1 1/2 ton Simply on / off no dimmer I believe the power to the switch comes from the multi position head lite sw. I would have to dig out the wiring diagram to make sure. Do you also need the round knob ? I will look at my spares tomorrow and see what I have.
Regards
John

Here is the switch in question. It draws power from the headlight switch and it powers/controls the instrument panel lights and the ignition switch light.

That "may" be the same one as the civy switch. It is mounted under the dash and slides side to side.

Lite switch
Sorry Mike
The picture you posted is definitly not the switches that I have nor those of Franks.
I think Doc is right about the civi part.
Try Jim Carter Truck Parts or Obsolete Auto parts
I have seen the remains of your switch type but never a complete one.
I will look thru some old repro parts catalogs and post the supplier if I am successful.
Regards
John

Since a replacement switch could not be found I made something work.
I used a Napa switch with a long handle. Once the original switch's internal parts were removed the new switch fit inside the original housing. The only difference is the new switch only has 2 posts on it.

I was not able to find an original switch. I made a aftermarket switch work.

Re: Instrument light switch
My 1943 CCKW-353A2 has a panel light switch, push-pull, off-on and a dimm function, but with military panel. Left side of instrument panel.
This kind of switch is standard on all GAZ-69 and GAZ-51,66 trucks, ex.same, but Made in USSR. Here, in Hungary easy to find.
