Because of the mass of the Ring Mounts as installed on CCKW trucks, one should be very careful of the replica 50 Cal M-2 MG you install. The motion of the truck is transmitted to the heavy mount and could cause the barrel of the replica to fail at the point it enters the Barrel Support.
Failure could cause injury, or damage to your Windscreen or Bonnet.

I came close one time when my IRAC barrel unscrewed and almost came thru the windshield. The gas tank still has the dent in the front from where it 'went by'....

Right after that, I made a spanner to tighten the begebers out of the barrel and I keep it in the glove box so I can tighten it from tiem to time.

The Resin ones have to be babied. The Dewats and Repros use different methods to attach the Barrels and Barrel Supports to the receiver. A CCKW may cause more strain than on the.50 than a Jeep, caution has to be exercised on all of the Repros, as they are not usually assembled the same as the real thing. On the Ring mounts though, it will be a little safer if the Barrel is stowed in the Clamp except for parades. The Pedestal Mounts do not have that luxury.

Well, I don't have a ring mount and will never have one on my truck, but when I had jeeps and carried both the .30 and .50 on them, they always remained stowed until the parade or static display. mainly for the saftey for the guns more than anything else.
