The GMC CCKW

Was there every a civilian version made of the ben hur 1 ton cargo trailer? I spotted a trailer today that sits much lower to the ground, the fenders do not extend below the body, and there are stake pockets in the tailgate. I have a picture of it on my phone but I can't text message it to my email (I should be able to but it won't work), otherwise I would post the picture here. I thought it was a WWII trailer but after that was somehow lowered but after comparing the picture with pictures from this site, it just doesn't look right.
