MG Mount Trolley Parts

Post by halifaxgroup »

I am looking for a few parts for a standard US Army WWII MG mount ring trolley. Need one large bearing, one small bearing, and one small bearing pin (axle). The bearings are solid steel with a brass (or copper?) internal race.

Thanks in advance. Paul

Paul,

If you find a source, and there are some left after you get yours please post who it is.

I need a bearing for my trolley too.

Trolley Bearings

Post by halifaxgroup »

I posted this WTB on a few forums, seems these items are no where to be found. I called everyone I can think of looking for these roller bearings.

I have since found out that the inner race is made of bronze.

I gave the ones I do have to my cousin who has his own machine shop. He is VERY busy, but said he can make them with no problem.

Any interest if I can get a bunch of these made? I have no idea about price, but what is the alternative?

Hi Paul,
I too need some if we are talking about the same item.
I have a trolley that is complete, but badly rusted ,all the rollers that make contact with the rail may not be usable. The pins however might.
Will these new rollers have the same hardness?
Will they be parkerized?
Please let me know.
Thanks again
John.

MG Trolley bearings

Post by bobc »

When I tore my trolley apart I was very dismayed by the condition of the rollers, the outside ones are in good shape but all the insides are trash,I got looking at them and thought they looked familiar,so I took them to my local Parts Plus parts store and sure enough there is a small sealed roller bearing that matches the dimentions exactly,I paid $5.99 for the big ones and $3.99 for the small ones, since they are inside you don't see them, they are sealed bearings so they will be water proof,I'd be willing to bet that you can't get steel ones built for that price,I don't know if you guys over there have this brand of parts store but I can get the part numbers and you could probably find an equivilent.Bobc

The CR # which should be a world wide # is 6202 2ZJ for the small ones and #6302 2ZJ for the large one,Parts plus #s P202SS and P302SS,if you have a good parts man he should be able to do some thing with these numbers. Good luck!
