I have a NOS that is manufactured by Timken on my shelf. They are most likely a Studebaker/REO Spare, but fit CCKW Split also.

How about rebuilding ??
The partnumber listed on 60 year old + timken bearings are still in the system...
I had a sloppy pillowblock, and contacted the Norwegian agent for Timken. He suplied with new bearings within 5 days...
Cost: Proably about a fraction of a new NOS Pillowblock...
Job: pretty simple - 1 hour..

One change they never made but should have was to add another hole in the pillow block housing opposite the vent cap. Had they done so, you could have used the same part for both the splits and the banjo by reversing the plug and vent. They have all the same parts, just put together differently. One is on the left side of the mount and the other is on the right side of the mount. Swapping from one to the other w/o rebuilding puts the vent pointed down...
