All Open Cab CCKWs will have the Assymetrical Radiator Guard with the BOD Light mounted on the fender behind it.
Many return trucks do not, as they got their parts scrambled n overseas rebuilds.

If you are purchasing a restoration, start by looking under the hood, the character of the remainder of the restoration will be evident.

If it is mickey mouse, the rest of the truck is a good candidate. Back to back in line fuel filters are a "red flag" Just imagine how the undercarriage is.

Blue Silicone and teflon tape speaks for itself- close the hood and go home.

Brakes

Backing plates wet with brake fluid around the bleeders, Master Cylinder all grimey and wet from spilled fluid, and still no brakes. Sure sign the owner is aware that the brake cylinders are in need of replacement.

How many of you can spot a CCKW with an Air Portable Cab? It's easy, many of the rebuilt European CCKWs have them. The chassis may not be Air Portable.

Are you making fun of my engine photos I sent you  Only kidding!! I can't disagree. Look over the brake system, wheels, axles (for metal grinds in the oil) and peek in the fuel tank to see what it looks like. I have been going over mine with the help of some other and this is a worth while exercise.
