CCKW CHAINS

The Army technique for installing traction chains on a 6X6 if only one pair is to be installed, is to install them on the intermediate axle.
Some collectors may have litle good to say about CCKW/Chevrolet 4X4 driveability in snow. They did just fine in WWII Driving technique was taught in schools, correct loaddistribution was taught, air pressures were adjusted, and chains were used. The truck was developed with 750X20 tires and teated in all climates. The anticipated logistics of maintaining a few hundred thousandCCKWs made it necessary to conserve rubber.
Driven with skil, the CCKW does just fine.
