Hi guys,

For your interest, (hopefully!) attached is an image of a yard full of GMC trucks in open storage in Wellington, probably in the late '40s or early 50's.

These trucks arrived into New Zealand from the Pacific theatre, and were mostly rebuilt here in new Zealand, as after WW2, trucks were hard to get, and there was nothing readily available that was as useful as a Jimmy.

My truck is one of this sorry looking lot!

If the image is not attached, you can find it at my storage site : http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/emmcamm/my_photos

Kind regards,

Mark Cameron

Thanks for the photos. I can imagine how abused these trucks were coming from the Pacific theater and the exposure to the salt atmosphere and the warm temps. Great jb opn your truck. She looks great.

What happened?

Did anybody notice the wood cargo bodies on the closed cabs. I wonder what happened tot the open cabs produced 43-45 in the pacific?

Neat picture.
