Very Nice looking truck.

What is the significance or relationship between this vehicle and the 92nd Bomb Group that it is (historically) assigned to?

Did the shop vans have re-inforced frames?

Fort Susquehanna: my shop van, with genuine ETO markings, has strengtened frames. I have seen the remains of another one. Maybe it was a war-time measure only. I can get a picture when the snow melts.

I have two (2) closed cabbed 42 CCKWs and neither have reinforced frames.

A friend has a cab and chassis, with winch, with re-enforcements. I couldn't read the letter after 353, but the extra frame metal looks factory. This truck is in the 383XXX serial number range. I was just wondering if it was a shop van. I will have to look harder at the frame number. Thanks for the information.

On this shop truck, the frame has factory reinforcements.

I also understand that other trucks with heavy loads such as compressors, fuel trucks, water trucks, etc. had reinforcements. I do not know however when they started putting them on the frames.

Ken,
Here are some more pictures, but I do have more I haven't uploaded. If there are any specific details you would like, let me know. I may already have a pics or can take more next time I'm around the truck.

Please note that this is not my truck, but will more than likely be involved with the restoration whenever it begins. It is a very original rig with almost all of it's original parts minus the shop equipment and tools. This particular truck is "automotive, b".

http://www.flickr.com/photos/willysmbdigibeta/ Or Have a Look On Flickr undr GMC CCKW groups for some more pics of my workshop truck .

My rear Workshop back has been badly re skined and I will need to do quite a bit of work on her so any and all photos of your... the yellow rear body would be of great help to me ..

how do the rear steps fix on the body ... do the rear doors have a swivel bar to lock the doors shut ..

Is the Skin under the windows in one or several sections ..

how is the roof made ... several sheets of steel or one bit ...

If you could just shoot me some square on shots of the two side ( as full frame as poss) , the rear doors/locks -catches -step mounts .. the roof ....details of vents ,hooks trim..etc etc .

I cant have to many pics..

A big thanXXXX.

Looking through the pictures I have, I don't have any good detailed shots of what you are looking for. I am leaving for a show on Monday (Tower Park out here in CA) and will be able to take some pictures of a shop truck owned by Chris T. If all goes well and I have wifi access, I will upload the pics Monday or Tuesday. Can you send me your email address so I can send the pics directly to you?
