I will add more info about this DUKW...
It was found by a Mechanized Museum volunteer at Lake Hemet in Riverside, which is around 100+ miles N of Camp Pendleton. It was used by some local people (not sure exactly who) to maintain a dam until one day they just left it under a tree. This volunteer inquired about them donating it to the Mechanized Museum and they said "sure"... so a couple weeks later we had an LVS (the vehicles on the right) head up to fetch it. It only took a few days to get it running. It is now in the condition you see it in below. It needs a new paint job though. Along with brakes.... (right now we must rely on the handbrake!)
We have one more DUKW that has been on the backburner for maybe two years now... we just have to get it done at this point... it's painted and everything... we just have too many other projects to tend to!
