Hi Rik.
Thanks for the link Karoshi. You guys have done a fantastic job, a hell of a lot of work.
Why was the cab so rotten, was it left with the canvas off?
Best wishes.
Jack.

Sorry for the late response by chance i landed on this. So I am Rik, now 26 years old and mechanical engineer. We live in the south of The Netherlands.
We purchased our truck about 4 years ago. As you can see on our site we completly taken apart our truck and rebuild it in two years time. I did this together with my dad. And we had a lot of fun with it and learned a lot about the technique of that time and a lot more things like patience and endurance, it wasn't easy some times as things got wrong.
The truck was sold from the Dutch army to a transport company and they sold it after some years to an old man who planed to do the restauration but never got started with it. So the truck stood over 6 years under a plastic cover in the Dutch rainy weather. The old man sold the truck to us and we took to work. Technical the truck was complete with a lot of spare parts and a Ben Hur trailer. But the 6 years took its toll as you can see on our site. There was no canvas left. The cabin was the worst part.
Now we drive regular with the GMC for al sorts of purpuses. One day we drive with our club, then we drive for a friend who moves to a new home. Or we load the truck up with debris from garden or home. There where a lot of kids in the back of the truck for bithday parties.
So not only is the truck a nice hobby its practical to. And we have a lot of fun driving it.
So i wish every one the same pleasure as we have,
Rik
