This forum is full of information and I spend hours reading through it.
I recently purchased this jimmy on ebay and wanted to share a couple of pictures of it leaving one home and going to another...after intital inspection it appears to be 97% complete aside from canvas. I am missing 2 wiper motors.... data plates with 3 guages in french. Headlamp lense and bulbs are french also..was lend/lease. The rest of the truck is in great shape with what appears to be original paint over 80%......wood bed is in great shape all except for the floor boards....
will keep you updated!!

You were fortunate to recognize a bargain and jump on it. The fact that it is still in Military configuration gives you a head start, and shaves a couple years off the restoration, and it will soon be a show winner with a little attention. Have you considered sending it to Mil Spec for the finishing touches? Bob Rubino is the best there is.

right now were working on cleaning the NOS engine up and transfering parts from another. As expected the guages and data plates are french as are the headlamp lenses. The tires are solid UNIROYAL made in France.
Once the engine and brakes are squared away, the jimmy will go through a restoration and paint job. It looks to be complete down to the brake line support springs. I am missing wiper motors and the mirror is foggy and needs replaced.
a few more

Thanks. I will be doing some work hunting down some numbers on the chassis, engine, etc.
The previous owner told me it was in France when the war ended and became part of the lease program and it was finally shipped back for the first time in 1980 when he bought it.
will keep you posted

That is one good looking truck and with the wood bed, quite a find. Good luck and I know you will enjoy her.
