Looks like 2 good restoration projects when you have a bombtruck. Hard to find in Europe!! and pretty cheap as far as I know.

The pinkish one in the rear has the screw lift mechanism that is very rare. It makes it MUCH easier to hitch it to the bomb truck.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like there about about 4 fo them there.

If you look at that group of pictures there are at least 6 bomb trailers in that grouping...although only two of them are on the auction....
Come on Doc....
Live a little....What can the NHDOT say when you are towing 8 of them in a train behind your Bomb truck...

"...up against the bomb and spread um..." is what they could say!
I may try two.

One of these would look good being pulled in a parade loaded with bombs by a CCKW .

They are a beech to put onto a CCKW if you don't have the elevator crank mechanism to raising and lowering the lunette. Trust me! I have a rig that I hook thru the step loops that connects the two of them together from the inside. It has a loop in the middle that I hook my 2 ton chainfall on so that I can lift the 57mm AT gun trails onto the cargo CCKW pintle. Picking up the M5 BT bent the crap out of it. Because the wheels are sooo far back on the M5, there is a LOT of tongue weight.

Can anyone suggest how I could go about arranging transportation of these bombcarts if I bid on them and won? I have no experience arranging a trucking company to transport anything, but I salivate at the thought of owning these carts. I am in Michigan. Thanks! Andy

Get a low loader company or even better a container freight comp. and send them to the loading place to load the trailers. make sure you arrange a crane or clark to get them lifted or pushed onto/into the bed/container.
It's not complicated at all to get a truck company the work done...will cost you some dollars....

GL is an absolute pain in the rear about getting stuff off a base. You need to hire someone experienced in dealing with them to get those off base.
On the GL site there are transportation companies listed but you are going to pay through the ....well you know.
Try going over to the G-503 and asking someone who is local if you paid them could they get them off base for you. Having a trucker pick them up off base without time constraints as when to show will make finding someone who is cheaper.

My searchlight was hauled from AZ to NH in an enclosed truck by a guy who charges $300 per pallet square. 48"x48" coast to coast.
If you could stack them the footprint would not change so you could get it for the size of 1. So 2 for $2400. Coast to Coast.
When I was looking for transport I had a retired guy offer his 1 ton dually and 18 foot trailer. AZ to NH for $2400. To Chicago would probably be $1400.
The issue is dealing with GL and non-familiar truckers having the possibility of being jerked around by them. You need to find someone local to the base to get them off base for you.
