A friend just sent me a link to a site loaded with photos from the Normandy campaign. there are around 2,300 photos, and it seems that most if not all are captioned. I found that using the advanced search function of Google, I was able to quickly search the site for particular subjects.

To really get the most out of the site, you really need to view the pictures AND the captions associated with them, like this one:

Try using the Google search string "gmc site:
http://www.stolly.org.uk/ETO/". Try substituting other words for "gmc". You'll be surprised what you can find!
