Entertaining movie

The wife and I went to the movie yesterday and saw a most entertaining film entitled Fly Boys. You kind of have to be into WWI aviation to enjoy the film, but no profanity or crude scenes, just a lot of flying and just enough of a love story to entertain the ladies.
I used to fly with a group called The Fighting Air Command in Denton, Texas. We restored and flew the WWI air planes that had been used in the old George Peppard movie Blue Max, so watching the little WWI birds brought back some long ago memories.
Not WWII but they have some great WWI trucks in the film.

In recent issues of Army Motors/ Supply line there has been articles concerning the vehicles and location filmed for this movie.

The location filming for the beach scenes was Iceland, the reason being the black volcanic 'sand'. A lot of the vehicles were bought by William Galliers, the last time I was in his yard he had a no of GMC's and Dodge ambulances for sale and the footwells contained a lot of the volcanic 'sand'.
