What are you guys doing today is special rememberance of this day of honoring our military dead? I will take old Betty Boop to a local shopping center and set up a display honoring our WWII dead. A coupld of old WWII vets will sit with me and visit with the younger set. Post your intentions for the day.

Two Parades for me today. I take the WC-54 Ambulance and the 2 kids to pay our respects for all that gave the ultimate gift for our continued freedom and wonderful way of life.

The first one in the local "city" (10,000 people) at 10 am with a Ceremony at Veterans Square at the end. It has been highly publicized as two local folks lost their lives in Iraq in the last 7 days.

Then this afternoon at the next town over there is another Parade. They will be dedicating a refurbished Veterans Memorial so there will somewhat of a ceremony there.

There usually is no current Military except for invited Speakers. The Legion/VFW make a good show and we provide the vehicles.

To me...that is what this hobby is all about.

Sounds like great fun Bill and I trust all went well. Our little excursion went very well. One scout master with five scouts stopped by and got my canned lecture on the CCKW and how important it was and I even let each scout check out my Garand. I made arrangements with their scout master to let them ride in old Betty Boop in the Schertz, Texas 4th of July Parade. The boys were excited. One old fellow stopped by to visit. He worked in the Studebaker plant during WWII making US6's. He was interesting to visit with. Lots of people blowing their horns and waving at us as we were located on a major street frontage. One lady even brought us lunch from a local deli and thanked us for our service to our country. It was a really nice. day. Just as I got old Betty Boop put up for the evening some really heavy thunderstorms hit, but we needed the rain, so no complaints. God was good to us today. :D
