The GMC CCKW

Hi All,

As some of you already know in late 2005 I bought an early(May 41) CCKW-353 cargo from a guy in Norway by the name of Arne Flekstad from Stjordal. I met Arne on this forum and bought several parts from him,all of which were just as discribed and arrived within a few days of me sending him payment. When Arne said he had this truck I asked him to email me some photos,which he did and on the basis on these pictures I bought the truck from him,I also paid Arne for a new battery and to service the brakes. after I sent him payment he sent me a receipt,the trucks Norwegian army log book and the original main dataplate.

I have not heard from Arne since February and dispite trying to contact him via letter,email and phone I have not been able to do so. a guy I know in Norway who also knows Arne tells me that Arne still has the truck and he passed a message to Arne for me,but again I heard nothing from him.

I am hoping that maybe someone on here might know Arne and could pass a message on for me,I have everything arraged to ship the truck and all I need is for Arne to contact me.

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Sounds kind of bad Matt ,does this guy have a business or just an individual

I hate to see this happen to collectors, but there are so many fradulent individuals out there. They do all right until it comes to the big bucks, then for one reason or another they rip someone off. I have a friend here in San Antonio that won the bid on a CCKW in Tenn. a couple of years back and was really escited as this truck was in primo condition with M49 ring and all. He sent the down payment and was making arrangements for transportation. He requested the title and papers on the truck from the individual. This went back and forth for several weeks, when one day he got his down payment back in the mail. It seems the truck belonged to the Tennessee National Guard and was their parade vehicle. The guy was a sergeant in the guard and because he had been storeing the truck at his house, he decided that no one wanted it so he would sell it. One of his fellow guard members saw the truck on Ebay and contacted the CO, who turned it over to Army CID. It was being carried in Army inventory in the Army National Guard. I have wondered what happened to the sergeant. At least my buddy got his $750.00 back.
