This puts "Life" in perspective

Post by Bill_Wolf »

I received this from a member of the message board. I have seen it before but it has been a while since I watched it....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did I forget about it?...No...It moves me to tears every time I see it...I just got too busy to put the stupid mundane baloney that I deal with everyday aside to allow me to experience this the way it should be.....

As I sit here watching "it" again...I think of all the trivial little things that I bitch about...while I sit here fat and happy in my nice house, with all the "comforts of home"... It is God's way of sending me a wake-up call...A true message to the heart saying to me that my "problems" are miniscule in relation to what life is all about...This simple little gift of 65 years of pictures, of lives given, lives lost, and lives changed that reminds me that I have it better than most others in the world....All because a Stranger, or some times a relative, was willing to do something for many people he would never even know...a small act that would change destiny. Something that might have been done 60 years ago on a far way beach or last week in some desert hell-hole.

My Thanks to all on this list who are veterans or currently serving for whatever nation you serve for....We all owe you.

Thanks Bill. I showed this to everyone of my classes last friday and they all clapped at the end of the piece. These are military brats that I teach and some have parents in Iraq and Afganistan and they understand the need for support.
Thanks to patriots and great Americans like you and others on this site, we won't forget te sacrifices of our veterans and American heros.
