The CCKW "Daisey Mae"

When I was in the UK and FR for the 45th anniversary of D-Day in 1989, my group had loaned to us a truck labeled "Daisey Mae" by its owner. The owner (his name escapes me) use to provide vehicles for movie studios. His favorite personal HMV was a British Ambulance, maybe an Austin?

Anyways, he sold Daisey Mae in the 90's. She was a LWB, no winch open cabbed banjo deuce. She loved to jump out of 4th gear, but was a pleasure to drive in the English countryside and the Normandy area. I was the designated driver as I had (only) one at that time in the US.

"Daisey Mae" was painted on the truck in one or two places as I recall.

Does anyone know of the wherabouts/fate of this truck?

Thanks

Hi,

Was the guys name, Tony Oliver, who owns the History on Wheels Motor Museum? He supplies vehicles for Films, he supplied vehicles for films like, the battle of britain, the dirty dozen, the eagle has landed and many more.

If it is him, I will ask him where Daisey Mae has gone if you like?
