With the End of the WWII in Europe coming up here on May 8 I understand from corresponding with our ETO friends on the board that there are alot of 60 year Liberation events going on in Europe.

Anyone know of anything happening in the states or have "we" (as a country) just forgotten.

Nothing that I know of here in San Antonio, and we live in Military City USA. Of course at the end of the month are the various celebrations associated with Armed Forces Week. Most of these events will take place at the three Air Force bases and one Army fort here in town. I hope to have my new hood on my truck and new paint job on her by then to participate in some of the events. :D

Every May Eighth, I try to remember to get out my May 8 European edition of "Stars and Stripes", and "Yank". My uncle that raised me was a Ranger, and had just been liberated from capture in the Battle of the Bulge, he brought these back with him. I will probably set them in the driver seat of my MB or CCKW for the day

I will pull the old truck out and park it in front of my house, flags flying, one U.S. and one 101 Airborne. With all the retired military people in my neighborhood there will be a lot of questions as to why it is there. :D It is a good way to start a party. :D
