Definitely French, I have NOS that I bought from Hotchkiss (SOFIA) (WOF) in the 70s when I was buying Jeep Parts from them. French Parts Books list these under same part No. as US.

What usually happened is that reflectors faded from outside storage, or got painted over during repaint or touch up.The French reflectors are common on trucks from Europe. The WWII Style did not last forever in military supply, and in US Service the ordnance part number for the metal backed reflectors was generic, it would apply to Arrow,KD, Guide, Corcoran Brown, Yankee, etc. It was impossible to order the original brand within the supply system.
