Taking part in activities is the rest. Some are fortunate and are handy to places where events take place, Airshows, Parades, Truck Shows, etc. There is not much regular activity here in Maine, but we do have local parades and a transportation museum that brings a few old Jeeps and CCKWs together (sometimes). I have not had much activity since I provided a Jeep for General Chuck Yeager nearly 10 years ago, and the 3 Airshows since. We do put on the City of Bangor Memorial day Parade, and the same for Veterans Day. I have been involved with the american Legion Parade Committee for 20+ years. 9-11 sort of put a crunch regular Air Shows held at Bangor Air National Guard Base (old Dow Field). The Me ANG is out straight providing support to transient USAF heavy transports, and Fighters from Europe enroute to Nellis.

Sadly enough, even in Military City USA not that much goes on when it comes to having the opportunity to show off ones military vehicle. I generally make an airshow at one of the local Air Force Bases, and three or four parades in the general area.
In March I am going to try something different. I am going to rent a spot at a local flea market and set up a display with my contribution box I have made. It is actually a WWII electronics water proof steel box that I ahve painted Betty Boop and Keep her Rolling on with a slot in the top. Last time I did this at a movie theater set up for the movie Pearl Harbor and picked up a little over $50.00 in donationsl. Helps pay for gasoline and no one is pressured. I may get nothing at the flea market but a lot of fun and talking to people.
