parades and kids

Post by 42cckw »

I have been out in my barn getting my cckw ready for memorial day,and the parade season. I would like to warn you about kids, candy, and parades. I have a rule for anyone who rides in my truck NO CANDY THROWING!! I have seen it to many times, candy thrown from parade vehicles landing in the middle of the road, and little kids who see nothing but that candy and NOT! that 2 1/2 ton truck in back of them.they come rushing out all excited to get the candy and don't see anything else, not even those 750-20 tires bearing down on them.I don't need to be looking out making sure nothing gets under my rear tires,I am to busy making sure nothing goes under my front tires.! enjoy these classic military vehicles, the parades, and the people, but do it SAFELY!!

have a great parade. JIM 42CCKW

Agreed Jim. Most of the towns in this area have banned the throwing of candy or anything else from parade personel and vehicles for safty sake. You are right about the kids. They only see the candy and it is enough for the driver of these old vehicles to watch the truck in front of them because they stop and start so much. Have a great parade, and thanks for honoring our veterans that gave so much for our freedom.
