MTO 325 FG

Post by Bill_Wolf »

In order not to splinter a post any farther I have started this new one.

Joel brought up some interesting info about the 325th Fighter Group stationed in Italy....Lenis I believe.

In my pursuit to find more information about my Dads 97th BG service in relationship to vehicles I found the following pictures with 325th equipment in them.

The first is a CCKW and the Second is a Chevy 135 or 325 Fire Truck.

(Joel please elaborate on the CCKW application)

Interesting pics of HMV's in action.

It is a cargo truck with sides and ends built up with wood and canvas, to most likely house aircraft tools and parts. the boom was for removing/installing propellers/engines and positioning the fuselage for boresighting the .50s. Note the tailgate has been removed, and that a rear step has been fabricated. I can probably ID the pilots of the aircraft , but they would only be 325th related.
