CCKW Instrument Landing System

I just wanted to share some knowledge.

A friend send me some parts and pieces, and among them was something called a BC732. This is an on-aircraft selector for the instrument landing receiver BC733 on WWII aircraft. Looking up the item, I came across the wikipedia article describing the AN/MRN-1, which was the whole system used. The display indicator used on the aircraft is very similar to the Instrument Landing System indicator we use today for instrument flight. Amazing what got set up in WWII.

That thing looks like it has enough energy to run a field bakery! The original microwave?
