Yes it is good advice. Wonder if I can come up with $500 before it sells? There certainly are plenty of parts there to use! Not just the Bed.

Thanks!

If Im unable to come up with this Chevy... the civilian trucks use the same cabs at least, correct (obviously not the beds)? I know there are some differences, ie. guage clusters and the front window (in how it opens) and such. I may need to replace the cab (if this one is to spendy to repair). Has some damage.

Hi Tim

The civi cabs are not the same.
Windsheild hinging is completely different
Dash as you stated.
But the underside of the cab is the most important, the civi cabs lack the perimeter framework that also supports the rad./ brush guard. The mil. cabs are mounted higher off the frame due to this renforcing.

Hope this helps

You can modify the Chev cab if you have the windshiled hinges and the under cabe reinforcements.

Thats some good info! I ask because there is some damage to the cab on the CCKW I bought, and am weighing replacing the cab vs. repairing the cab. I knew the Civilian cabs were simular, but not sure how simular.
