Chevrolet Flywheels and cranks

Post by dr deuce »

By accident today, I discovered that the earlier Chevrolet trucks, models Y and Z had a different crankshaft and flywheel then the later N models. They changed the size of the bolts that hold the flywheel on from 3/8" to 7/16"

So be careful doing an engine swap because the flywheel may not fit or worse, be loose!

PS: the bolt locking bar is different too.
