Inspired by Corne and his new find, can anyone help me with a close up picture of an WW2 original lamp fitting for a Ben Hur. I'm interested in the position relative to the tail gate, and how far back it sits, and how high up the side it mounts.
Thanks
Colin

Colin,
Are you talking the original WWII taillight brackets?
Wood or Steel.
I can take placement measurements on Tuesday if needed.

Ben Hur lights
A picture's worth a thousand words. I have a wood Ben Hur but the lamp units are mounted on the large, designed for steel, brackets. Thanks for showing the differences.
My brackets are attached to the rear corner post, by the tailgate, and have perhaps been moved to give better visability, but they are vulnerable, and just dont "look" right.
Are the lamp units in the same position for both steel or wood, or did they differ ? A measurement "up" and "in" from the lower rear corner would be a great help, sometime.
I'm going to stay with the brackets I've got, but it would be nice to position the lamps in their correct place.
Thanks for the help.
