Anyone know of any around for sale? I missed the one on ebay. I am really wanting a class 1000 to restore, but will look at any.

Scott,

A type 1000 will be real tough to find. Keep checking your State Department of Forestry as they grabbed most of these up when they were released.

That fire trailer on ebay was a Civil Defense version of the 1000. A little bit more fragile than the Military version. Also watch for those types of trailers from John Deere.

I have a non-military version of the Fire Trailer. This Maxim Blitz Buggy was built during the war and assigned to the Boston Fire Department. They had a couple of dozen stationed around the city. From these you could get mostly the same output as a fire engine but without the use of a truck chassis. Perfect for city service

My buggy has a 500gpm hale pump mounted to a Ford flathead V-8. I plan on starting restoration this winter. Pictures are below.

I have seen the maxims, and I tried to get that one on ebay, but funds did not allow. Hopefully I can find one, as I would like to display it with the '53 530b I am restoring.
