Metal 1-ton Ben Hur ID

I recently obtained a ww2 Ben Hur trailer. I'm sorry that I can't take pictures so here goes. The trailer has the parking brake, Reflectors that look like marbles, The tongue rails are open channel and not boxed as I have seen in some pictures. and has the rounded tail light brackets. The ID plate is missing and I would like to know if there is another way to ID this trailer. Some of the cool markings on the trailer are ARMY CO B on the tailgate, On the right side in front is a 10" yellow square with a large number 2 in the center. Above the right of the fender it says TIRES REAR 55 FRONT 35 seems odd for a two wheel trailer. Some of the writting is no longer able to be read. Any help with the ID of the manufacture and date of build would be appreciated. Thanks Cork

Sounds like characteristics of an early Ben Hur....

No way to definitively tell without a dataplate.

Are there any numbers cast into the spring brackets or lunette mount?

Pics would help

Right side rear spring hanger # 08072x, Right front # 08869x, Left side front # 08071x
Maybe I'll never know date and manufacturer...it was worth a try. Thanks for your help. Cork

I have several Ben Hur trailers.

One of the steel bodied trailers has the same markings cast into the spring hangars. The other steel trailer I have has no numbers cast into the hangers. The wood trailers also have no numbers.

Without the dataplate it is going to impossible to determine who made it and when....unless you can find the original USA number.

Thanks for everyone's help. I guess this post is closed unless I can find something else on the trailer. Cork

Pictures will help to determine if in fact it is a military Ben Hur.
