M7 gen trailer landing wheel

I just received my manual for the trailer in the mail and I noticed that is says all M7 trailers came w/ a landing wheel on the tongue. After looking at the tongue of my trailer throughly, I can't see any mounting holes or evidence that it ever had one. Nor do I remember the other tailer I bought having one. Has anyone else noticed this too? Does anyone have an M7 w/ the landing wheel up front? I think it would be nice to have instead of using the corner jacks to lift and support the trailer while not hooked up.

Also, can anyone tell me what unit my trailer was a part of (see pic below)? It has Army reg numbers but I was always told that VF where Navy fighter units.

Nick,

The M7 and M1 G221 trailers have the same front wheel assembly. Here are pictures of the one on my M-1. Note that the trailer front frame is different on the M-1 as it is a "tilting" trailer.

TM 9-8218 for the G221 M-7 & M-18 trailers does picture the M-7 with a wheel however when going out and looking at my Fruehauf M-7 it does not appear that a wheel assembly was ever mounted.

I'm in the process of restoring my Type A-3 Fuel Trailer and came across these images of this G221 landing wheel. Below are the images of the A-3 landing wheel. It looks the same. What say you?

My trailer came with an aircraft wheel for the landing wheel. What wheel do the G221 trailers use?

The landing gear units are the same and the tire wheel combination is the same as the Ben Hur.
