Directors trailer acquired, have questions

I have bought this trailer:
It is obviously a G221 trailer, but I am not sure about the model, to me it looks most like a M1 searchlight trailer, excpet it does not have the high sides. Are those sides detachable? There are no cut marks to indicate they have been torched off.
Also:
-The landing wheel has been removed. From pictures I've seen of surviving trailers, this seems to be a common thing. Why were the landing wheels removed? Was this done in military service?
-My trailer has two circular indentations on each inside top side of the carge area. Was this done to increase clearance for the searchlight?
-The trailer has the flexible A-arm. Did any trailers beside the M1 have this?
-I am of course missing some parts, as the electrical safety switch, 1 leveling jack, landing wheel, hand brake actutator wheel, safety chains, are any of these parts available anywhere?
