water buffalo USA nr found??

Post by Corne Lauwerijssen »

Hi guys

I bought a 250gallon water trailer 3 weeks ago, Iam busy
restoring her and found what I think its USAnr and maybe serial on
the trailers chassisrail. Nothing found under the layers paint.

The numbers are>> USA 0558070
serial??>> 903 15

Could these numbers be correct???

Saddly its missing all of its rare parts, like the pump and other related parts that are mounted on the left and right chassisrail. sorry for my english.

Greets,

Corné

Is it Alu or steel?

I have one of each and they only have numbers on the data plates.
One of them, the alu one I think is 9315.

Corne,

Good find.

The information posted to the main site about USA numbers, serial numbers, and manufacturers does show that USA number as falling into the range of a Ben Hur Manufacturing unit. Contract 271-4612 Production order T-8673. made in 1944

Enjoy!

I have not seen any reproduction data plates for the Water Buffalo's but there are reproduction plates available for the Ben Hur cargo trailers. Congratulations on the great find. Those critters are hard to come by.
Good luck on your restoration.
