Ben Hur Tarpaulin Question....need WWII facts

Post by Bill_Wolf »

My Tarpaulin for the Wood Ben Hur is in the final stages of Assembly.

Did WWII tarps have "Front" stencilled on them. The 50's era one that I have for the steel Ben Hur does not.

Mona has been good enough to offer to put it on. I want to know if it is correct for WWII or Farby.

Ben Hur Tarp Question

Post by Cat Man »

Bill,

The TM I have for the one ton trailer is dated 27 Aug 1943. TM 9-883

Under the paragraph Tarpaulin Installation it says,

"1) Place tarpaulin over wood racks, being sure to place end stenciled FRONT at front of trailer".

Hope that helps.

Thank you Cat Man!

That is exactly what I was looking for.

I received your CD and will get them up as soon as I can find the time.

Great pics...It will be excellent historical reference
