I bought a 1 ton wooden Ben-Hur which is due to arrive in about 2 weeks: my questions are: where do I find the stamped serial number on the trailer frame; if it doesn't have a data plate, how can I tell who the manufacturer was; when it was built; and what about the USA #'s? Does anyone have a list of approximate numbers, dates, etc for these trailers?
Thanks.

There are no numbers stamped on the frame like the Jeep trailer.
Your only hope of finding the manufacturer would be to find the original USA number.
There is a page on the main site which gives basic trailer crossover info on USA numbers to manufacturer. The year can be theorized by placing the USA number in the group versus the number of trailers built by that manufacturer each year. It is very unscientific and a real ball park guess.
Good Luck
