WTB NOS or good take off front spring(s) for my Chevy G7117 cargo with winch. Need at least one, but would prefer a nice set if available.

Hey check ebay there is a guy in Colorado parting out a 1.5 ton Danstractor is the name . He has the rear diff on now still on the springs which are still on the frame. I'd watch to see what else he will put up . I bought the steering box and pittman arm from him. I am hoping he may sell the frame in piecies as I am looking for the rear 2 cross members. Hope this helps.

I've exchanged a few e-mails with him, and he indicated that it's NOT a winch model truck... Good luck on getting the frame crossmembers. Have you contacted him about them? He seems willing to list parts that people want to buy.

Hi Retro. Well Danstractor already sold the frame so I am still going to be looking. Sounds lke we have the same truck . I just bought the 1.5 ton with winch a couple of weeks ago. I posted a pic of it and me in the introductions forum.

What is it you're looking for? <<edit>> just noticed one of your other posts says you're looking for the two rear cross members. Where are you located? I'm in Illinois now, but moved here from Nebraska. will probably be going back for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. If weathers decent, I know where three parts trucks are located there... I'll see what I can do.

Hi Retro WOW that is a nice offer.
Yes I am looking for the 2 rear cross members. Definately the second to the rear one because my truck does not even have that one. The rear one is there with the pintle but pretty bent. I probably can straighten it with enough heat and hammering, but if I could get a straight one that would be great. I live in Tucson AZ. so realize shipping will be part of the process unless some one is traveling south toward AZ.
Thanks again.

Good news!

I found a spring manufacturer (Eaton Detroit Springs) who will make the correct front springs for a Chevy G506 1-1/2 ton with winch. I had to convince them that these aren't just your run of the mill 1-1/2 ton front springs. Once I gave them a part number, they were able to pull the actual fabrication drawings. They gave me a quote of $296 per spring. This originally seemed like a lot of money, but keep in mind that these are brand new manufacture, per original spec springs, with bushings, center bolts, etc, just as detailed on the drawings. This price can be adjusted lower, depending on quantity. This was for one set of two springs.

Anyone else need or want a brand new set of front springs? A group buy MIGHT drop the price a little more.

You can read up on the company here:
http://www.eatonsprings.com/

or read about my spring quest on their forum here:
http://www.eatonsprings.com/forums/show ... php?t=4254

They indicate that they have thousands of original manufacturer spring drawings, so if you're looking for something unusual, and havesome good part number info, give them a try!!
