Have you checked Vehicles of Victory? They get T/O parts from time to time.

running boards

Post by retro-roco »

Dave,

Another inexpensive option if you have the skills and tools to do it is to take a pair of civilian running boards off a Chevy 1-1/2 ton truck ('40 - '46). The fenders will have a rounded cut out on the front edge, but can be easily cut square. In fact in looking over my original running boards, you can see part of the curved cut out, still visible on the front edge (bent down, and out of sight). It appears that they used the same running board blank, and simply clipped it and bent it as required to make the military running boards.

Ther is also the issue of the fuel filter cut out on the passenger side board.

If you like, I can get you some measurements this weekend. I have both sets of running boards in the garage, and will just need to dig them out.
