According to my parts book for the CCKW LeRoi compressor truck the trucks came equipped with eight Masterlock #3 padlocks for the lockers.
If anyone has one or more 1940's era Masterlock #3's they would be interested in selling please let me know!.
Thanks,
Matt.

Do you have an Army part number? I have a feeling the Locks will not look GI, but will be all steel. Couse did the same with their shop vans.

Hi Joel,
The only part# I have is A178-15,this is from the TM. Masterlock still make the #3 and it probably hasn't changed much but if I could find an original one to compare it would be good. I don't think they would be the brass ones marked US that all the Jeep guys want.

Just to follow up on this,I emailed Masterlock and just received a responce giving details of how the #3 padlock has changed over the years, along with photos, and suggestions on where I might obtain original 1940's locks!
GM could learn a lot from Masterlock!
