Is it the same fan belt used with either 6V or 12V generator?

12 Volts is not Original to CCKW, it all depends on if the original pulley diameter was retained, and if the original Harmonic balancer and waterpump pulley were used. That is why I prefer to keep MVs original, as there are less headaches when replacing parts. There were 562,000 6Volt CCKWs and they were just fine in their original configuration. If your 12 Volt system used all original pullys, the NOS belts should fit. You will have to compare your pulley with an original.

Ok Joel, nevermind. I'll look closely to my belt, it may have a reference on it. My GMC has been converted to 12V by Swiss army. I would hve preferred not. But it works fine, so...

This is why undocumented mods can be a nightmare? It is not in the manual and experienced army truck parts specialists tend to avoid these situations. What was the part number on your old belt, and did it fit?
