Engineer Equipment on The Alaska Highway

Post by Cat Man »

While we were doing the Route Recon of the planned AC 12 MVPA convoy on the Alaska Highway recently we saw quite a few former military vehicles around Alaska. Here are a couple pictures of some original Corp Of Engineer equipment from various locations.

There were many more. Also BE shovels, other graders, Scrapers, Studebakers and CCKW's, Gardner Denver Air Compressors with D8 Cat engines and various Dodge Trucks.

You still have time to sign up and drive your HMV with 60 other collectors on the Alaska Highway in August 2012. It's going to be on heck of a trip.
You can get more information at the MVPA web site http://www.mvpa.org

This was all historic display stuff along the highway. Not for sale. But I'm sure there is much more up there. We saw former military equipment like trucks of all vintages with "for sale" signs as we drove around.

We sort of made a highway game out of "how many Army trucks did you see today" when we parked at the end of the day.
