SMELL THE ROSES

Post by joel gopan »

Been doing it for 60 years and never tire of it.
Opening sealed in wax GI boxes of CCKW and Jeep parts always give me a little rush. One gets the opportunity to smell a little 40s air and witness OD parts that have not seen daylight or faded after 65 years.
CCKW items like Guide Tail Lamps, for example, will be found in a couple shades of lusterless Od and in Semi Gloss also. There is no rhyme or reason, but I suspect that thare was some lattitude in the paint specs for spare parts.
I have quite a few boxes to go, and never tire of it.
