The Sealed Beamsused during the war used a substitute reflective coating becausee of anticipated wartime shortages.
The headlamps were not quite as bright. The lenses had a dull appearance to them, sort of like looking into a frog pond.
These sealed beams are highly sought after by the discriminating collector. NOS do show up from time to time. They give your CCKW that "period" look.
The sealed beams I have as spares are Corcoran Brown, and Guide. They have black metal backing.
