Do not substitute metal rod or bolts in place of winch shear pins. The G-742 2 1/2 Ton M-35 Series Aluminum Shear Pin can be used on your CCKW. I carry a handful of spares in my glove compartment. have not broken one yet.|I have on my Pipeline truck when winching out my buried in the mud M-37. My wife is a good winch operator, even with High heels on, she understands when to clutch and declutch without sucking the M-37 up to the winch.
Winching is simple, read your TM over a few times so as not to panic. Many will screw up something the first time,as thet have a tendency to believe the Jaw Clutch handle at the winch will throw it out of gear.
I notice many of those on the site have no manuals, better get one if you do not want to damage your truck.
