AIR PORTABLE CCKW

Post by joel gopan »

Remember to use term "Air Portable", am sure Airborne types would have something smart to say.
What good are they now?
Conversation, I guess.
'll bet not many, and can tell you why if pressed.

Last one to answer will give me 50 pushups.

I have a 88 year old veteran friend who served in the motorpool 43rd division South Pacific, he has told me all about them ( Air Portable ) trucks that were flown into New Guinea in Dakota's they were cut in half by torch and he had to weld them back together  he just looked at me with a real serious face and said you know they really did do that, we were so far back in the jungle that was the only way to get the trucks to us :!:

The C-47s of the 317 TCG "Jungle Skippers" did just that in the Phillipines.
