Vehicle Height

Post by rhinexing »

The 1944 CCKW manual that I have shows that the height of an unloaded 352 with gun ring is a little shy of 10 foot tall. Was this measurement for shipping purposes? The reason I ask, is because if it was for shipping they wouldn't have included the bows & tarpaulin in the measurement. I need to know if the 10 foot measurement would have included the bows, etc.

I am going to construct a shelter to house my 352 with gun ring and want to make sure that the clearance is sufficient for leaving the bows in place. Thanks!

Hi

My shop doors height are 10'2" and the 353 clears it with the rear canvas up and the machine gun mounted. It clears the machine gun by less than an 1". Also note, that I am running 8.25 tires which made my truck slight taller.
