CCKW Tools.

Post by Matt »

I see on another forum someone has posted a question regarding the correct tool kit issued with the CCKW.

The illustration in the earlier TM 10 CCKW manuals shows little detail and would appear to have been re-touched,however the illustration in TM 9-801 is much clearer and one can actually see what brand of wrenches were used, although of course the photo in the manual shows just one tool kit,so other brands may have been used as well.

When searching for the correct tools for your CCKW remember that most things were common to many other WWII vehicles such as Jeep,Dodge and many larger trucks, however some things were GM and CCKW specific and marked with the GMC part number such as the spark plug wrench, wheel bearing nut wrenchs, wheel nut socket and handle etc.

I will get all the info I have in order and post it ASAP.
