Post by snow man »

Just finished mind last week and to tell you the truth i was thinking " this is going to be a nightmare" turns out it was one of the easy's fixes i have done lately. Image this is the new rubber installed , took about 20 minutes. Image Here is a profile of the rubber i used can be easily gotten from truck restoration shop, takes around 10 1/2 feet.

Hi Snow Man,

I found an NOS gasket when I was restoring my 1 1/2 ton it started to crack within 3 months of installation.
I got one from Jim Carter at www.oldchevytrucks.com .He probably gets them from the same source you found.
Regards
John

PS a little dish soap sure made it slide in easier
