Well thats for sure an ex Norwegian Army Truck gone home...
I wonder how many have made its yourney back to the US from Norway the last couple Years... And I am also wondering what they cost sold "second hand" in the US. I guess someone is making it woth while takeing them ower the pond.

It's a nice truck and enjoy it and keep history not forgotten, nore the boys who made it.

I too have an X-Norway truck. Mine is 353 no winch air-portable.

About the same type of shape physically....not as good mechanically.

I picked her up in PA from the guy who imported her back to the States. And she came with some extra odds and ends, like a complete extra airfilter assembly, two canvas doors (both left sides) Fuel cans, pioneer tools the back canvas for the cab, windsheild brackets and some new slats for the benches and more little stuff... All for the low low price of 5 grand. So I feel I did pretty good. And she is bored 40 over so that really helps my quarter mile time........ He also has a very clean Bolster truck for 11 with U.S. NDT tires but they are all very worn.
But needless to say I'm very happy.

Doc she is a beauty. The dash board lights are same as on the MB or GPW also and easily found in reproduction form. That is a very nice truck.

I guess it is a good deal with 5K for it. I recon it costs abouth 1500 US$ to get it over the pond.
Of course you can get a GMC for 2000 US$ here, but not to often. They tend to be arround 3K for a nice one.
The cheapest I know of, sold on an army auction some Years back was 140 US$, but then it had ha new rebuilt engine, all tyres new, gasolinetank full and running as smothly as you only can dream of..

It had a closed cab.
Some Years later it was choped for parts... The bed went of, the engine got out and replaced by a Mercedes diesel engine and automatic transmission. He made a hybrid to play with.
I did save the engine, so I am a lucky owner of a GMC engine, but no truck. I have to many Canadian Chevrolets to take home a GMC.
But guess I'll have to do so one day.

Hey Mud-Snow maybe the engine will act as a decoy and attract a good CCKW in need of an engine. I have a real early CCKW grille that I hope will attract a 41 CCKW.

But the easiest way to get "parts" in Norway (still) is to buy a whole truck, and I think it is also the cheapes way....

I was sorry to see you selling your Canadian Chevrolets on MLU. Does this mean you are actively looking for a CCKW. You said you wanted to get into smaller vehicles, but I hope that doesn't mean a Jeep. Everyone seems to have one of them.

I am not going to get another jeep. Have two of them alredy...
One restored and one in bits and pices for my daughter.
And I am not parting of with all my CMP either. I will for sure keep one C15 4x2. It is a project needing total restoration, but thoe. And I have a Morris Commercial just started restoration on it. Well I have dissmantled it.
And a closed cab GMC 352 w/o Winch would be of interest if it is in good running order as part payment/swap for some of what i have.
I also have another four CMP's in various state. And trailers, and two motorcykles but to little space..
But my healt is not the best, and there is also not enough houres in a week.... As you know, I make the magazien "Mud & Snow" and it takes much of my spare time.

Good luck with the new ride.... that is truck I posted for sale some time back and some person said it should be parted out. I disagree and look foward to some pictures of the restoration process. If you have any questions ask this board since most members are real helpful.

I saw the post a couple of days ago, and had to laugh. As a few that were then pointing out flaws and are now on the other foot.
And I must say this the first MV restoration that I've started that wasent opening a can of worms. The more I've dug into this thing mechanically the better it looks. All Drive axels were rebuilt just prior to 1990, the starter in 1989, the engine in 1987 and there is just over 1000 miles on the new odometer. No smoke, the oil was clean, new break lines the parking break relined and all recon parts. The transfur and tranny rebuilt 1988 and 89. I have one class 1 leak from the winch PTO.
And I'm missing the wiper motors.
Hell all the blackout lights work! I cant get that to happen on our HMMWV's and LMTV's and the Stewart Stevens people are here every week to fix something on our LMTV's
I've been toiling away every night after duty untill it gets dark, but it is going well and I'll post some pictures soon as I get the cab down to bear metal and primed.

A fine CCKW ,missing a few bits here and there like most all our CCKW's were when We bought them , Still that a Great looking vehicle to start with and will only get better as He has the time and money to work on her . Hope you will post progress pic's and perhaps a youtube video to let us see hows its doing .
